I read from Revenews today that Coffee.org was sold for at least $100,000 to Bill McClure, former Chairman of Traffic Strategies.  Traffic Strategies was sold to LinkShare.com a year ago.

Apparently, McClure has acquired 650+ coffee-related sites to build distribution empire of coffee products and equipment.  I find this a very very savvy way of using domains to build a business.

His domains include:

McClure seems to be on target for covering the online business for coffee.  Just consider the following facts:
1.  Coffee is 2nd largest traded commodity with $18B in sales for the U.S. alone
2.  It’s the 2nd most popular beverage in the world
3.  in 1999, there were 108M million U.S. consumers of coffee
4.  coffee drinkers spend on average $164.71 per year on coffee - wow!

The data alone makes a good case for investing in coffee domains.
